I thought they were adorable and very poignant, for kids.
Also, to say it is not enough to believe in something if it is wrong, and only to believe in facts and logic is actually not a fallacious argument against the belief in God assuming that you are implying that the existence of God is wrong. To say we must believe in what is factual, and the existence of God is not factual, therefore we should not believe in the existence of God is fallacious on several levels. First of all, you have offered no evidence as to why we should take your word that the existence of God is not factual. Just because you believe it, or wish it to be true, does not make it so. Also, you have made the error of false alternative. Assuming that the assertion that the existence of God is not factual is true, coupled with the assertion that we should only believe in things that are factual, does not mean that we must necessarily believe that God does not exist. The truth that the existence of God is nonfactual does not make it true that the nonexistence of God is factual. It could simply be that the existence of God does not yet have enough evidence to be considered fact. Therefore, the logical conclusion from that argument is not "Believe God does not exist." But rather "Don't believe anything about the existence of God." And if we do only believe in "facts" then hope would not exist at all. And hope is essential to the very progress of our species in an intellectual environment based on more than just instinct and "fight or flight".

well then, there's enough proof supporting religion as their is against it. can't we call it a stalemate? besides, even if there was a god (not to say there is or isn't, but...), would he/she/they not make it so that their existence could not be proved?

That's not being an athiest, that's being an asshole and a hypocrite. Feeding them your belief is no better than them feeding you theirs. And how do you actively not believe in something? You do or you don't.
I may not believe in the bible, but I'm pretty sure it got it right when it said to love your neighbor. Treat others as you'd have them treat you, etc. Are you the same age as these kids? You sure as hell act like it.

to the fundamentalists on both sides, will you both just shut up, whilst the parents beliefs are usually followed by the children, later they either come to question what they were taught, or will continue to lead lives with religion intwined.
at the end of the day, whether your a good person so you get to go to heaven, or your a good person because its the right thing to do, who cares?, if your a bad person, the threat of going to hell is usually an idle threat, and if you dont believe in a god, and it turns out there is one and you were a terrible person...guess where your going?
I'm sure belief in god or not, if you do the right thing, good things will come of it

To claim that teaching a child religion is akin to sexual and physical abuse not only trivializes those who have suffered physical and sexual abuses but is also unconscionable and repugnant. I was raised Southern Baptist and let me assure you the beatings I received from a neighborhood caretaker and molestation I experienced from a separate neighbor did far more harm to me than my Southern Baptist upbringing ever did.

Who cares if this is fake or not? have any of you ever tried to have a conversation with a child? some still believe in the tooth fairy, Santa, or anything you tell them, let them be kids and enjoy their innocence.
It is really painful that instead of enjoying the innocence, people are actually sitting there arguing about things that dont really matter.

I'm enjoying the arrogance of the people who said these children are being fed "lies" about the existence of God. You are just humans--who are you to say what does or doesn't exist in this world? Are you so arrogant as to believe that those who have faith are "stupid" or "spineless" and truly in the wrong? Science has been wrong countless times, so I wouldn't rule out the existence of a higher power. Just sayin'.

Why be offended then? Well, because these letters all suggest children either have some inner wisdom, are comedians, or are stupidly cute. Which, though maybe some people don't want to acknowledge it, isn't true.
What's worse is that the author has created some fifty fake relationships with God and presented them as real. I think the religious and the atheists can agree that's wrong.
But when you look back into the studies, and genuine factual science of the collective minds of this planet, see the part where the majority of scientists are telling you THERE IS ACTUALLY MORE PROOF AND EVIDENCE POINTING TOWARDS THE GENUINE EXISTENCE OF GOD, THAN NOT.
Ultimately; you are wrong. and your own "joke" is on you, and it is you people who will be crying and begging when The Rapture happens, asking for a second chance..but by then...will it be too late? Get some perspective on the facts, instead of your unsubstantiated rhetoric.

Actually I think it's wonderful that people at all can believe in something greater. I do myself, and I enjoy these comments so much :) I think it's super amazing that these small children show their thoughts in their letters! :)
